One fixed fee. Stated up front.

Individual plan: $1,250, a fixed flat fee.
Married couple plan: $1,950, a fixed flat fee, covering both spouses jointly.

What the fee includes

Each plan includes, for each person: a will; a health care directive, including a funeral directive; a statutory short form power of attorney; and a personal property list kit. And for each household, if our review of your current deed confirms that a transfer on death deed is appropriate for your home, one transfer on death deed, which we prepare and record. The fee is the same whether or not the deed review results in a transfer on death deed.

The fee covers the whole process: intake, your questionnaire, preparation of your documents, your review meeting, your signing meeting, and recording of the transfer on death deed where one is part of your plan.

The only additional cost

The only additional cost is the government recording fee for a transfer on death deed, which we collect from you at cost. There are no other fees or costs.

What the package does not include

The Headwaters Estate Plan is a defined package, and part of stating a real price is stating what sits outside it. The package does not include: tax advice or tax return preparation; trust creation or administration beyond the trust terms contained in the wills; business succession planning; Medicaid, long-term-care, or public-benefits planning; beneficiary-designation work on retirement accounts, life insurance, or other assets; litigation or dispute work; or ongoing monitoring of your plan after our representation ends. If your situation calls for any of these, we will tell you.

Our intake process confirms the package fits your situation before you pay anything. If you engage us, your engagement letter states the scope and fee in full.
